Simple Sugar Cookies

Much to our dismay, last weekend we were both at home, done with the nights activities, by 10 on Saturday evening. We started to chat on the phone about how pathetic our lives had become and decided we needed a sugar fix to distract us from our sorrows.

All the while, both of us lacked the motivation to leave the house and actually buy ingredients. So, we decided sugar cookies would be an easy enough recipe. After all, most people do have the ingredients in their homes:

3 cups flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon milk

After mixing dry and wet ingredients separately then combine both. Then cook them at 375 degrees for about 7-9 minutes. See our pictures below.

I topped mine with icing by whipping 2 egg whites and then mixing in 4 cups of powdered sugar and 1 tsp of vanilla.

Lydia sprinkled sugar on top of hers.
